Classroom observation provides an opportunity for teachers and instructional leaders to reflect on instructional practices and make changes to improve student learning. However, classroom observation tools may not translate well into the remote setting. This session will introduce a process and tool that can be used as is, or adapted to meet program needs, for remote live instruction observation. The Remote Instruction Observation Tool was developed by the IDEAL Consortium, which is a project of the EdTech Center @ World Education. Participants will learn the suggested process for observing remote live instruction, review teacher and learner look-fors, and share ideas for observing remote instruction. This tool can also be adapted for observation of professional development delivered via webinar.
